Hi, I’m Josh.
I’m a Glasgow-based saxophonist with over 20 years of playing and performing experience. My set is an eclectic mix of iconic pop music, designed to appeal to all ages and tastes and resonate with all audiences. I offer two core services: a dancefloor set and a cocktail hour set.
Expect a wide range of feel-good tracks: from Espresso (Sabrina Carpenter) to Heart of Glass (Blondie), from A Little Respect (Erasure) to Murder on the Dancefloor (Sophie Ellis=Bextor), and from Just Can’t Get Enough (Depeche Mode) to Relight My Fire (Take That & Lulu).
With over 20 years of performing experience and formal training from the University of Leeds (BA Hons, Popular and World Music) and the University of York (MA, Music), I combine deep musical understanding with a genuine love of performing to create an unforgettable experience your guests will truly enjoy.
Services
I offer 2 core services: the Dancefloor set and the Cocktail Hour set.
The Dancefloor set is a solid 45 minute set. It's a tried and tested upbeat mix of iconic pop songs for all ages and tastes, guaranteed to get people grooving on the dancefloor and having a good time. The focus is on instantly recognisable tracks, feel-good music that creates a fun, inclusive atmosphere without feeling cheesy or overdone. This works well either before a DJ or live band, or later in the evening as a standalone performance. The spotify link below includes my core set. The Cocktail Hour set takes well-known pop songs and reworks them with stripped-back, acoustic backing tracks. The songs remain familiar, but the overall vibe is more relaxed.
This set is ideal for cocktail hours, guest arrivals, drinks receptions, or any moment where you want great music without it taking over the room.
Pricing
I charge £265 for either the Dancefloor or Cocktail Hour set. This includes travel in and around Glasgow. For events outside Glasgow I include additional travel costs in your quote. I usually plug into the venue’s sound system or work with yoir DJ (if you have one), but for smaller gatherings or home events, I provide my own sound equipment.
Special Requests
Want a specific song included? I’m happy to incorporate special song requests into your set — just let me know in advance of your performance date so I can arrange it properly and ensure it fits seamlessly within the flow of the set.
Other Services
Ceremonial music. I also offer bespoke compositions and performances for special occasions — whether it’s walking down the aisle, a proposal, or a memorial.
